Lest We Forget

A Heritage Lottery Funded WWI Project

CREW Schools are delighted to have been supported by the National Lottery over the last few years, enabling us to work with a wide variety of partners to take ‘Lest we Forget’ into the heart of so many communities across the UK.

The Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) has made the vital difference, allowing CREW to commemorate these unforgettable years with a wide range of different community types. It has been an absolute pleasure for our presenters and organising partners to witness the positive effects that this project has had across the generations. One of the most significant aspects is witnessing the old and the young exploring the emotive stories that this historical period induces. We are so grateful to have been able to facilitate the process that has inspired the creation of commemorative poems, drawings and conversations, inspiring both young and old alike to commemorate these years in a respectful and positive light.

Once again we would like to thank both the HLF and our partners (museums, schools and communities) for helping us deliver this inspirational project.

We look forward to continuing our work with other partners across the UK for the rest of 2018.

Well organized and presented. All children thoroughly engaged.

Ainslie Wood Primary - Walthamstow

Really engaging and inspirational.

Sybourn Primary School - Walthamstow

It was excellent quality.

Martin Wilson School - Shrewsbury

This was a brilliant workshop. Fantastic. A really worthwhile workshop. This should be compulsory for every school child.

Greenacres Primary School - Shropshire

Informative, but enjoyable. Children gained much more knowledge, in a way they they would remember, than they would have done in the classroom. Brilliant session!

Bitham Brook School - Lancashire
